2006 Young Democrat State Convention

***SATURDAY FEBRUARY 4, 2006 from 8:00am-6:00pm at the Miller Senate Office Building in Annapolis, MD***

CONVENTION and ELECTION:

The Young Democrats of Maryland and College Democrats of Maryland invite you to their 2006 Convention on Saturday, February 4, 2006 at the Miller Senate Building in Annapolis. Our day-long convention will include remarks from Elected Young Democrats and Young at Heart Democrats from all levels of government, valuable campaign trainings, tips on how to grow your chapter and opportunities to network for your 2006 campaign or legislative job.

REGISTRATION:

Convention registration begins at 8am . A CONTENITAIL BREAKFAST and LUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED as part of your registration cost (see below). Lunch will be an opportunity for various candidates for statewide and local elections to meet and greet with Young Democrats from all over the state. Campaign trainings will begin right after lunch.

CAMPAIGN TRAININGS:

The Maryland Democratic Party, Democratic National Committee, and the Young Democrats of America are working with the YDM to organize campaign trainings that will last throughout most of the day. These hour-long trainings will help to prepare the YDM members for the upcoming elections and guide us on continuing to build our chapters and organization. YDM members will be able to sign up for various trainings at the convention.

RECEPTION:
What is a Young Democrats event without a little party! We will wrap up the day with our 2006 Fundraising Reception (location outside the Miller Bldg to be announced) featuring several big-name Democrats. The reception will start at 6:00pm and will be another opportunity for various candidates for statewide and local elections to meet and greet with Young Democrats and for elected officials and supporters to help fund all YDM and chapter activities for the 2006 election year.

COST:
Chapter Young Democrat and College Democrat members $20. For all other guests $30.
